SMC's Women's Soccer Tie Long Beach City College Vikings 1-1

On Tuesday August 29th 2017, Daysi Serrano (#23) is attempting to make a steal against Long Beach City College in Santa Monica, CALIF.

The Santa Monica College Corsairs Women’s Soccer team took the field for their first home game of the season on August 29, 2017 against the Long Beach City College Vikings. The majority of the first half had been dominated by the Vikings besides the first few minutes of the game. While they were in control of the ball on the Corsairs half, it took the Vikings a missed shot, an offside call, and a defensive miscommunication on the Corsair's end, to score their one and only goal against Santa Monica College during the first half. 
It was clear, after half time, that the Corsairs addressed their issues and came out ready to perform. The tides were changing as they became the aggressor for the majority of the half. Coincidentally, the Corsairs maintained control but could not capitalize on more than one occasion due to a pair of controversial offside calls.
While the Corsairs didn’t walk away victorious, they proved they have an ability to adapt which will serve them well as the season progresses.

During their next game, the Corsairs take on the El Camino College Warriors on Santa Monica College's home turf on September 1, 2017 at 3pm.
