Basketball Heartbeat

Sophomore Santa Monica College basketball player Daiquan Copeland will be transferring to Morgan State University, a Historically Black College or University in Baltimore, Maryland this fall.

The 6 foot 6 inch tall point guard from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has battled through several injuries such as a torn rotator cuff and a broken wrist while also searching for the right opportunity to continue his basketball career. He looks forward to this new opportunity where he is eligible to play for three years, and he is also excited to spend time with his family back in Philadelphia. Copeland believes that SMC helped resurrect his career.
