Oceanside, Calif- The Santa Monica College men’s soccer team (3-1-1) defeated MiraCosta College (3-1) 2-1 on Friday, Sept. 6, at the MiraCosta Stadium in Oceanside. Jefferson Parada (16), assisted by Javier Mendoza (11) and Gabe Mejia (9), scored the first goal of the game in the 60’. After an unassisted MiraCosta goal from Brandon Jeffers (5), Santa Monica’s Jay'ce Jones (12) responded with a goal in the 80’ with an assist from Javier Mendoza (11) and Philip Hephzibah (17).
