Venice Parade Marches Down Lincoln

Venice hosted its annual Cinco De Mayo Parade and Festival on Saturday. This historical event has run since the late 60s to honor the city’s cultural diversity and celebrate Mexican-American heritage.

The parade began at 10 a.m. and traveled down Lincoln Boulevard. It featured performances from traditional Aztec Dancers by the Grupo La Rosa Folklorico Dancers, marches from Charro (Mexican Dancing Horses), and a fleet of custom lowriders from Venice Classic Cars.

In addition, the parade showcased the Venice High School Marching Band and the Santa Monica College Cheer Club.

The Venice Cinco De Mayo Parade and Festival is always free to the public. Next year’s parade will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m., starting at the corner of Lincoln Boulevard and California Avenue.
