An Abandoned Building on Fire
West LA, CA - On Monday, Sept. 23,2024, there was an alleged fire breakout on Bundy Drive and Olympic Boulevard to La Grange Avenue. According to Joe Everett, Assistant Chief of the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire started at 6 a.m.
The fire’s cause is unknown. It started in an abandoned two-story building at 2050 South Bundy Drive, labeled Henry Radio.
He also said that no civilians nor firefighters were injured. Everett said, “We are taking defense stands from the outside building.” He also pointed out that various stations came to the scene. The stations and engines of LAFD that came to clear the fire were 33 station from South Los Angeles area, 62 station from Mar Vista, 63 from Venice, 69 from Pacific Palisades, 58 from Pico-Robertson, Engine 94 near Crenshaw and Baldwin Hills, 92 from Century City, Engine 19 from Brentwood, Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) 88 from Sherman Oaks neighborhood and more.
According to a Staples employee who declined to provide their full name, there was a small fire on one side of the building at 6 a.m. when she arrived.
They said, “This is the second time that this has happened.”
