Runway Our Way - Online Shopping

It's about time we come clean: we are addicted to online shopping. There is something about looking at a site like Modcloth or Nastygal that makes anything seem possible. It cant hurt to hold off on the grocery shopping for this month and splurge on that adorable peach minidress…right? Recently, went on Neiman Marcus' website for the first time. I think it's safe to say that we were smitten. Spring trends like colorblocking, cutouts, crossbody bags, and florals filled the website.  It was true love.

So this week on Runway Our Way, we explain the spring styles of colorblocking and cutouts as shown on the runway, and adapted to real life by celebrities and SMC students alike.   Bright colors and sexy, but not over-the-top, cutouts are trends that are going to take us into the spring and summer this season.

Fortunately these trends go great together as we see Gucci pairing warm oranges, purples, and bright teals with cut out tops down their Spring 2011 runway.   Versus' Spring 2011 collection is the ideal example of both of these trends with bold colors and modern cuts.

Celebrities such as Emma Watson and Leighton Meester take these runway styles and rock them on the red carpet.  Watson was spotted at the Elle Style Awards wearing a gorgeous dress from the Hakaan Spring 2011 collection with sexy and defining cutouts over her hips.  Even here at home an SMC student wears a feminine floral top with a bright blue sweater that she cut herself- an example of everyday colorblocking that any of you can do!

Don't forget to have fun with these styles this season and make them your own!

Xoxo,
