One dead in Mar Vista post office parking lot accident

An accident left one dead  on the corner of Venice Blvd and Grandview Blvd in Mar Vista, California at 10 a.m., a few blocks south of the Bundy Campus.

A 91-year-old female driver was driving a red Mitsubishi SUV as she was leaving the Mar Vista Parking Lot Post office. She struck a male and female elderly couple. The 80-year-old male was taken to the hospital with a leg injury and the 74-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses stated that there was lots of screaming and yelling when the incident took place, and one witness stated that they saw both people pinned under the car initially.

LAPD Police and Detectives as well as their Traffic Division Investigators were on the scene investigating.
