Introducing Runner Kevin Garcia

He first started running as a senior at high school.

Garcia has done very well as a freshman athlete and student. Toward the beginning of the season he got used to the races and running, but towards the end of the season he mentioned he really got the hang of it. The team performed very well but they never made it to the Socal Championships. Only two team members made it to the Socal Championships.

Asked about the toughness of the courses, Kevin responded, "Santa Maria was probably the hardest of all courses. It had holes and sand mixed in there with a couple of hills. The easiest course we ran was the Glendale Community College course."

Overall he said the team was really fun and exciting and he encouraged anybody else who would like to be a part of the team to join. Coach Larry Silva said, "I'm looking forward to next year, and that all team members come back eligible and ready to run a new season. It was really fun coaching this team. They went from having a minimum amount of training to one of the best cross country teams in California."
