Valentin is an established DJ/radio broadcaster and an aspiring photographer/journalist. During the Spring 2020 Semester, he plans to focus on the arts, culture, and media sections of the Corsair. He can be heard on-air hosting Soundwaves Radio on 90.7FM KPFK Saturday mornings and DJing events around Los Angeles.

Tyesa Harvey is a Liberal Arts Behavioral and Social Science Major who enjoys freelance writing in her spare time. This is her first year writing for The Corsair at Santa Monica College and she is excited to join the team. She has a special interest in student resources and providing resources for students, especially parenting students. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her children and nieces and nephews and being the loud-mouth for marginalized people dealing with social inequalities.

Hi, I’m Glenn! I’m an arts cheerleader! In a nation obsessed with STEM, where the president tells people not to get art history degrees, and where arts funding is everywhere cut, I think it’s important to tell artist’s stories. The arts are often marginalized in the short run. Yet in the fullness of time, art and culture are what is remembered.

I’m a Journalism major from Sweden in his fourth semester at SMC. Outside school I like soccer and basketball, either reading about it, watching it or playing it myself. On my spare time I’m writing a novel and I also enjoy working out at the gym and spend time with my friends.

Drew Andersen grew up in the creative cultures of Greenwich Village, Berkeley, San Francisco’s North Beach, Haight-Ashbury and Marin. He created Bay Window™, an entertainment publication, while earning a Master’s Degree in San Francisco. He did field archaeology in Sinaloa, Mexico. Traveled extensively in Japan and People’s Republic of China. Drew served as an advertising executive in the healthcare industry and lives in Santa Monica. His passion for producing pictures and stories is a good fit working with the Corsair’s multimedia platform and L.A.s diverse cultures.
