Anberlin delivers another solid album
After two long years and a much-anticipated wait, Anberlin is finally gracing the alternative world with their new album, "Dark is the Way, Light is a Place." Five albums later and a successful road along the way, Anberlin is ready to embark on their next tour to promote the new album.
Though the new album still has that Anberlin feel to it, there is definitely a difference in appeal between this record and its predecessors. The brand new ten-track album is upbeat and definitely leaves Anberlin fans thirsty for more.
"Impossible," the second track and first single off the record is alive and energetic, a great choice for a first single. "We Owe This to Ourselves," the opening track on the record, is the perfect lead in to keep the fans interested. "Closer" and "Pray Tell" are sure to be crowd favorites at Anberlin shows, due to the liveliness optimistic sounds of the songs.
In comparison to their previous albums, this particular record is different in the sense that it is more mainstream. "Cities," their third album was more original, raw, and like nothing else heard from other bands before. The new album still has its signature Anberlin touch to it, but fans will definitely notice a difference in appeal.
Hailing from Winter Haven, Florida, the band first formed back in 2002 which was also the year they were signed with semi-independent label Tooth and Nail Records. After five victorious years with Tooth and Nail records, Anberlin decided to part ways and sign with their first major label, Universal Republic Records in 2007.
Anberlin has come a long way since 2002, and all the fans could agree to that. In honor of promoting the new album, the band will be doing select in-store signings. To keep up to date with these events, visit the band's Myspace page at www.myspace.com/anberlin.
