JC Penney to shoot at SMC
Camera equipment will take over the college’s courtyard and library steps for the shooting of a JCPenney’s commercial on Jan. 9-10.
The mass retail chain commercial will film for 14 hours each day. Shooting will primarily take place in front of the clock tower and the library. The college charges $5000 a day for filming, in addition to extra fees, applied after filming wraps.
This is not the first time SMC has seen the cameras. Over Thanksgiving break, Luke Wilson was present for filming of a new movie.
The ad features men’s and women’s jeans, v-neck t-shirts, and button downs for men, said Linda Sullivan, director of facilities programming.
Students will not be inhibited by the shoot, she said.
