The Santa Monica College (SMC) Corsairs softball team continues their undefeated winning streak with a tense, low-scoring match on Thursday, February 21, while hosting the Allan Hancock College Bulldogs at John Adams Middle School Field.

The Rams made their presence known in the NFL last season when head coach Sean McVay took over. On Sunday, December 2, the Los Angeles Rams secured first place in the NFC West. This is the second year in a row the Rams took first place in the west.

Santa Monica College (SMC) mens soccer team advances to the 2018 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA)  Southern California Regional semi-finals. SMC mens soccer defeated the Santa Ana Dons 2-1 on Tuesday, November 20. SMC has never made it this far into the CCCAA playoff tournament, just one win away from the state championship game.

The California state ranked #6 Santa Monica College Corsairs faced #15 Fullerton College Hornets in a decisive match to continue in Southern California regional playoffs. Santa Monica had recently secured themselves title holders of the Western State Conference Championship for its second consecutive season.

Santa Monica College comes out with a 2-0 victory over Chaffey College in first round of playoffs. The SMC men’s soccer team now advances to the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs to play Santa Ana College in an away game.

Behind 289 yards and two touchdowns on 40 carries from redshirt junior running back Joshua Kelley, UCLA (3-8 overall) used a dominant fourth quarter to dismantle USC (5-6 overall), 34-27. “We have playmakers around me and a great offensive line,” Kelley said. He added, “we can for sure build off of this.”

The mens and women's leading scorers are both international students. Both teams are #1 in their conference and are ranked highly in state rankings. Santa Monica Colleges (SMC) women's soccer team is currently ranked number six in California and number one in their conference. Men’s soccer is also number one in their conference which confirms SMC as a soccer powerhouse.

Santa Monica College Corsairs hosted the Allen Hancock College Bulldogs (AHC) on Saturday night’s homecoming game at Corsair Field. The Bulldogs were coming off a four-game winning streak while the Corsairs had won the previous game in a tough fight in overtime against Los Angeles Harbor College.

For the first time since 1994, NFL football is finally back in the city of angels. The inaugural “Battle for L.A.” featured third-year Rams star quarterback Jared Goff torching the Chargers defense, in a 35-23 victory. Goff completed 29 of his 36 passes for 354 yards and three touchdowns, while Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley led the Rams ground attack with 105 yards and one score.
