SMC Men's Volleyball team earns first home victory

The Santa Monica College Corsairs Women’s Volleyball team played against Bakersfield College on Wed, November 10, at Santa Monica College for their last game of the season before they play for the conference and potentially more.

The Santa Monica College Corsairs Football team played against rivals LA Valley College on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Santa Monica College for the Military appreciation game held in honor of Veterans Day weekend.

The Santa Monica College Corsairs Men’s Soccer team battled it out against LA Mission College Eagles on Friday, Oct. 29 at Santa Monica College. Tied up 3-3 with minutes left in the game, Taj Winnard (17) was able to squeeze in a crucial goal to put the Corsairs up 4-3 to seal the game with LA Mission.

The Santa Monica College Corsairs football team took the field against the Antelope Valley College Marauders on Saturday in their conference home opener. Down 29-14 with one quarter of play left, the Corsairs narrowed the lead to 36-31

SMC Corsairs went head to head with Ventura College (VC) Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Santa Monica College. Ventura College in the first couple minutes of the game found a way to put in a couple goals, only to have the Corsairs follow suit and only trail by 2 going into the half.

The SMC Corsairs took on Citrus College Friday, Oct. 8, at Santa Monica College. From the start the the Corsairs took the immediate lead and held that lead until half time with a score of 3-1 in favor of the Corsairs.

SMC Corsairs took on Bakersfield College Tuesday, Oct. 5 at Santa Monica College. Bakersfield took the early 2-0 lead over the Corsairs and held that lead, until just before half where the Corsairs were able to squeeze in a couple goals to tie it up. With a score of 2-2 after half,

Santa Monica College Corsairs took on Valley College in an head to head game Wed. Sept. 29. Valley College took the early lead and retained that momentum until half, with the score being 14-2 in favor of Valley College. The Corsairs were never able to get anything going and took the 21-5 loss to continue the season.

Santa Monica College Corsairs hosted the Allen Hancock College Bulldogs (AHC) on Saturday night’s homecoming game at Corsair Field. The Bulldogs were coming off a four-game winning streak while the Corsairs had won the previous game in a tough fight in overtime against Los Angeles Harbor College. 

The Corsairs returned home this Friday, Sept. 28, looking to break through a victory drought of four tied games. Currently ranked #16 in the country, Santa Monica College (SMC) faced plenty of adversity throughout the match against the Antelope Valley (AV) Marauders, who took the lead twice within the first minutes of each half. 

The Corsairs finally find their first win in week 4 against Compton College. The Corsairs come back strong after a tough 56-0 lost two weeks ago against Bakersfield College. Santa Monica College (SMC) has finally earned their first win of the season this Saturday against Compton College Tartars after starting off their first three games winless.

The Dolphins played final game at home in 24-7 loss against OMBAC

The Western State Conference Preliminaries had many Corsair athletes coming out on top.

The Corsairs lose 7-1 in the final game of the season against Santa Barbara.

The Corsairs win 3-2 against the Oxnard Condors to end their seven-game losing streak on Thursday, April 19 in their penultimate game of the season.

Santa Monica Corsairs beach volleyball team lose twice in one day; 4-1 against the Ventura Pirates and 5-0 to the Bakersfield Renegades.

The Santa Monica Corsairs lose 4-1 against the Ventura Pirates in beach volleyball during a conference game at their final home game.

The Santa Monica Corsairs lose 3-1 against the Long Beach City College Vikings in the final home game of the season this Wednesday, April 11.

The Santa Monica Corsairs lost 11-8 to the Moorpark Raiders on Tuesday, April 10, but showed improvement since the 11-3 loss the last time they played together in early March.
